  1. Goodbye Khethavath (KP)…
Some people come into your life and they become co-workers, acquaintances, friends or part of your family. When I joined KP’s team as a co-worker it was not long before I realized that KP was someone special. KP could talk to you about something and lead you to understand how things could be better and in doing so make you feel enlightened. He never left you feeling like you did anything wrong and always let you know that you were valued. Conversations with KP became something to be revered.

KP was a member of my family because he was someone that actually cared about me and my family. He afforded you respect, dignity, honor and compassion. This type of brotherhood is usually only found in jobs like policeman, fireman, soldiers, etc… where they depend on each other to save their lives. Rarely do you find this sense of family in the business world. This is how KP entered your life, he didn’t just affect it, he impacted it.

The news of you passing KP has filled me with a physical sense of loss. I feel as though I have been diminished even though my interactions with you were on a weekly basis from over three thousand miles away. I cannot fathom the deep sorrow and pain your loved ones, family and friends must be feeling right now and I pray they can overcome their grief and anguish in time.

KP you have left a presence in me that will not soon fade and I will carry with me for the rest of my days. My life has been improved with your presence and I hope to do the same for people I have met, or will meet in the future. You were an example of what is good in this world and you will be sorely missed.

    Sincerely and Respectfully,
    Keith Griffin

  2. God Speed KP. I remeber meeting you first time in 2003 for some SRVM issues seen in AIX/Tru64 platforms and was interacting with you as the owner of the base file. Our friendship grew from that day onwards as we mutually respected each other. After you became manager and started managing the SRVM team, I interacted with you more and remember you pinging me on the platform issues even though you were not directly responsible for it. Yet, you cared so much about the product that you wanted it to be bug free in all the platforms. I remember sending you emails at odd hours of the night and won’t be surprised to get a response from you immediately. I always wonder how you were managing so many things on your plate and balance your work life and personal life.

Since 2013 we started having more philosophical conversations. I remember May 1st week 2013 when I returned back to work after 10 months of my cancer treatment. You were the first person in Angelo’s org to meet me at work and was genuinely feeling for the pain that I underwent. You asked me ‘whether the disease changed my perspective of my life ?’. I remember responding to you that ‘Yes, I value my family and friends more than work’. I know you were headed for a meeting then and I asked whether I should meet you later. You mentioned to me, ‘No. Meetings can wait. I want to talk to you about your journey’. That was a pivotal moment. Never in my dreams, I could think that almost 2 year later, you are going to the same path. You were so upbeat when I was spoke to you during treatment and I hoped that you would come back and we both celebrate our victory over the demonic disease. God had other plans for you and he snatched you away from your loving family and friends like us. We will miss you. Hope you would be up there waiting for me when my turn comes.
