Kishin Mirpuri, was born on June 9th, 1946 in Hyderabad Sindh to Satibai and Tirathdas Mirpuri, a business family from Sindh. During the partition of India in 1947, the family moved from Hyderabad Sindh to Colombo, Sri Lanka where their father owned a business. As the third youngest of nine children, Kishin was full of life, made friends easily, was quick to laugh, eagerly jumped up to dance and was an amazing cook. He travelled the world and could communicate and negotiate with anyone. He was an exceptional swimmer and good at sports. He worked with his brothers to run the family business in Japan, Taiwan and Malawi until he retired in the year 2000 and settled in Sri Lanka. He spent the last few years of his life with his children and grandchildren in Boston and Fremont.
Please join us as we honor the memory of our beloved dad, father-in-law, grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his daughter Dina Berdieva, son Vijay Mirpuri, daughter-in-law Samico Kaw and son-in-law Dima Berdiev, his grandchildren, Amara and Kiran, his siblings and their families all over the globe.
A funeral service for Kishin will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 from 2pm to 4:00 PM at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538.
There will be a public viewing, Antim Ardas and last rites as per the Sindhi tradition. Livestream will be available.
Akhand Paath will start on 26th June, 2024 at 4:00 pm and end on 28th June, 2024 at Gurudwara Sahib, Fremont. Mirpuri family requests you to join them for Antim Ardas & Kirtan followed by Guru ka Langer on June 28th, 2024 at 1:30 PM.
