Lalita K. Berry, 86, was born in Kapurthala, India, to loving parents Baphuar Singh and Kalawati Kashyap She was the only girl among twelve children. She married Surendra Singh Berry in 1954 and made a home with him and her three children, Hemant Berry, Sanjiv Berry and Anjali Bower in Fremont, CA, since July 1969.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents and seven brothers. Lalita is survived by her three children: Hemant and his wife Kerri, Sanjiv and his wife Abha and Anjali and her husband Dan. She cherished, loved and was adored by her five grandchildren and one great grandson: Nikhila Berry, Chaten Berry, Nathan Berry, Sarina Bower, Suhana Berry, and great grandson Noah Berry.
For her family, Lalita was truly selfless and a beautiful angel on earth. She was a loving mother and grandmother who focused on her family and was at the center of their life and hearts. Lalita was surrounded by her immediate family as she passed on Tuesday morning June 13, 2017.
Lalita acquired her Masters in Indian History at the young age of 21. Lalita followed a spiritual path, Sant Mat, and was initiated by the Great Master at 11 years old. She led a passionate spiritual life and her abiding faith in God guided her throughout her life. Compassion, loving and caring for people and accepting the events in her life were the tenets of her beliefs.
Service to follow at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels Mortuary on June 24, 2017 at 10:30 am followed by a reception at her home in Fremont.
