  1. To Bryon and Tamee. My mother and I are sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you.

  2. LaVerne was a lady who loved life. She shared that love with all
who knew her. She will be remembered for her warm smIle and gracious manner.

  3. Dear Byron and Tamee, Although I have never met you or your mother, I clicked on this obituary because I saw that it was a Portuguese name and I was on the Berge Pappas site to read about another person. When I read your mother’s obituary, I was so surprised as when I read her parents names, Carrie and Joe Lawrence, I knew that she was related to me. Her great-great grandfather Antonio Caetano Bispo (who was father of Manuel C Lourenco, and grandfather of Joe Lawrence) is ALSO my great-great grandfather from his first marriage. I just thought I would reach out to leave a note and send you my condolences.
I was very close to my maternal grandmother, Annie Vargas Maciel who was the daughter of Anna Lourenco (1/2 sister to the Manuel that I just mentioned) and she used to tell me so much about her mother who came from the island of Flores. If you are ever interested in knowing more about the family I have done a lot of research over the years. You can reach me at annajoe@aol.com I am sorry to write this at such a time of sorrow for you….I just was so shocked to read the obituary and thought I would send my thoughts as I have no other way tp communicate with you. When I looked into my genealogy program I had your mother’s name and your names in it too! Ida Lawrence gave that information to my mother long ago. I knew Ida, she actually married Joe Oliver who was my dad’s first cousin. The Portuguese connections go round and round! I am truly so sorry for your loss…..My best to you…
