Lou entered into rest on July 1, 2016 at his home in Fremont, CA. Lou worked for Fremont Unified School district for 24 years. Prior to his tenure at FUSD, Lou spent 20 years at Kimber Farms in Fremont. Among other activities, Lou enjoyed camping, boating, and flying with his family and friends over the years.
Lou is survived by Marilyn, his loving wife of more than 55 years; his children Yvonne Tripp (Mike Tripp) of Livermore and Ron Smith (Brent Haberman) of San Diego; and his brother, Lawrence Smith (Araceli) of Fremont.
Family and friends are invited to attend a vigil at 7 pm on Thursday, July 7th at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA. A celebration of life mass for friends and family will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 8th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA. He will subsequently be laid to rest in a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested remembrances to Sister John Marie's Pantry, P.O. Box 3276, Fremont, CA 94539.
