Marilyn Vincik Mascsak

marilyn mascsak
Marilyn Mascsak, 56, passed into the hands of Our Lord on January 9, 2016, in Newark, CA. Marilyn was born on July 16, 1959 to Adolph (deceased) and Pauline Vincik in La Salle Texas. After graduating with her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in 1981, she relocated to the Bay Area, where she met her husband Andy. Marilyn was extremely social and enjoyed, more than anything, helping other people. Anyone who knew Marilyn knows they were truly touched by a special person. Her enthusiasm for life was her most amazing trait. Everyone who was fortunate enough to cross her path was met with kindness and warmth. Of all her many accomplishments, she was most proud of her wonderful daughter, Margaret. Marilyn worked as a secretary for Fremont Unified School District for 15 years, at Vallejo Mill Elementary for most of the time. She was with Tupperware for over 28years and cherished her 'Fantastics' Team members and the all friendships she made through Tupperware. She was very active and strong in her Catholic faith which carried her through life and especially during her illness. She enjoyed helping and organizing many church activities at St. Edward parish in Newark. She cherished all of the friendships with the members of her parish and being part of the Handmaids of the Lord Prayer group which was a large part of her life. Marilyn asked that you not shed a tear that she is gone, but instead, smile that you got a chance to meet her, and then, go do something that will put a smile on someone else's face. Marilyn is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of over 30 years, Andy, and her loving daughter Margaret, who were by her side when she passed. Her mother, Pauline Vincik, Sisters Majorie Vincik, Carol (Sonny) Brasseaux, Kathy (Steve) Hill, brothers, WJ (Linda) Vincik and John (Lisa) Vincik, and numerous nieces and nephews in Texas and California. She was preceded in death by brothers Dennis, Kenneth, and baby Vincik. A Rosary and visitation will be held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA on Friday, January 15th at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA on Saturday, January 16th at Noon. Final internment will be at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in LaSalle, TX on Tuesday, January 19th. The family extends its heartfelt love and gratitude to the many friends and family that supported Marilyn during her illness including the Palo Alto Medical team in Fremont, caregivers, volunteers and hospice workers. In lieu of flowers or mementos, please make contributions to St. Edward School Tuition Assistance Fund, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560
