Martha A. Abela Resident of Newark Martha A. Abela, 65 entered peacefully into rest April 17, 2014 at her home in Newark, CA. Born April 14, 1949 in San Francisco, California to Miguel and Herminia Fernandez. Martha is survived by the love of her life, Dennis Abela of 37 years, her two daughters, Tracie Serrano of Newark, CA, and Denise Abela of Newark, CA, her six grandchildren, Jasmine, Noelle, Daniel, Dillon, Matthew and Leila. She is also survived by her three sisters, Dolores Hill, Marina Sennett and Mary Fernandez and brother Ramon Fernandez. Her brothers Miguel and Carlos Fernandez and sister Angela Toole preceded her in death. She was a total avid Wii player and enjoyed good wines but most of all she lived to love and care for her family. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM vigil held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 24, 2014 held Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd, Fremont. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
