Mary Ann Smith

Mary A. Smith passed away on April 4, 2016. She was born in Niles, CA on January 5, 1927 to William and Adelaide Lawrence.Devoted wife of the late Louis A. Smith, Sr. and the late Elidio Cunha. Loving mother of Nancy Lee Johnson and husband Stan; Lawrence W. Smith and wife Araceli, and the late Hermina Cunha. Cherished sister of Virginia Oliveria. Devoted grandmother of Stanley III and Eric Johnson, Michael and Kiela Smith and great-grandmother of Tyler, Savanna and Jacob Johnson. Mary was a member of St. Joseph's Church, I.D.E.S. Council 1, Mission San Jose Catholic Daughters, and Betsy Ross Parlour Daughters of Golden West and St. Anthony's No.12 of Newark.Family and friends are invited to attend a 1-5 PM visitation Sunday April 10th with a 3:30 PM Vigil. Mass of Resurrection will be 11:00 AM, Monday April 11th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 43148 Mission Blvd Fremont, CA. She will be laid to rest at Golden Gate National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in Mary's name to Sister John Marie's Pantry, P.O. Box 3276, Fremont, CA 94539.
