Our Beloved Mother Mary Gloria Baca, age 89, went to heaven to meet our angels, our father Aurelio, sisters Juanita & Maria, and her granddaughter Monica on March 22, 2020, in Fremont, CA surrounded by all her loved ones.
Mary leaves behind her daughters, Rosario “Chayo” Contreras (Manuel), Elsa Espinoza (Tony), Elizabeth Lagos, Veronica Oberst (Gerry), and Rebecca Ornelas (Pete). She also leaves behind her 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mother was preceded by her beloved husband, Aurelio P. Baca, of 91 years of age and two daughters Juanita & Maria at birth and her Granddaughter Monica.
Our mother was born in Del Rio, Texas, on April 18, 1930, to Emilio & Maria Acosta Loredo. They moved to Fremont when she was 15 years old. She used to sing in the 1950s with a Radio Station called KSJO in San Jose. She sang ballads in Spanish, and we heard there was an album. Mother met our father, Aurelio, and married on November 18, 1951. They were married for 65 happy years.
Our mother was a seamstress, and she made her beautiful wedding dress with the help of her mother. She made lots of bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and flower girl dresses. She also made hats in those days that were very stylish. Mother would love to sew, and she would make our clothes for school that we were very proud of.
Mother worked at Libby’s in Sunnyvale and also at Washington Hospital in housekeeping for over 21 years until she retired. Mother also loved cooking for everyone. We would have lots of families when they were visiting our home. She was always ready with a pot of beans, homemade tortillas and chili to welcome everyone.
Our mother loved everyone unconditionally. She enjoyed her holidays with her family and going on vacations with them to Calexico, the beaches on Easter, casinos, Hawaii and of course Disneyland.
We are going to miss her very much, we all love her with all of our hearts and souls.
Mother, We know you’re at peace with our angels and were granted your wings with Dad, your two daughters, and granddaughter Monica.
Until we meet again.

I’d like to share a touching moment
One day I went to the house to visit Veronica (she had surgery on her wrist)
I heard Mrs.Baca busy in the kitchen as I and Veronica sat in the family room catching up on the latest.
Well here comes Gloria, walking towards us. I told Veronica you are so spoiled.
Your mom even brings your lunch to you.
Mrs.Baca bypasses Veronica, and serves me.
Warmth,Love always flowed from their home, as you’ll see in her daughters.
Love Herme, Will and Hunter Quinlan
Our Prayers are with you all
