Mary Helen Beaton

Mary Helen Stogsdill Beaton passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in Fremont, CA.  She was born in San Jose, CA in 1945, the 4^th of 6 children. Her parents Bert and Carrie Mae Stogsdill worked hard providing for their children following the crops from San Jose to Chowchilla, CA. In 1964, Mary married William “Bill” Beaton and raised their two girls in Union City, CA. Mary moved back to her childhood city of Chowchilla after her divorce and worked as a home healthcare worker for many years.

She is survived by her daughters Kim Marshall (Troy) from Fremont, CA and Tamie Beaton from Rio Vista, CA, as well as her 3 granddaughters – Crystal (Tom), Shana (Sebastian) and Mikayla; 2 grandsons – Jimmy and Brandon; 1 great-grandson Jameson; and 1 great-granddaughter Cleo.

Mary was a kind and generous person who was happiest when she was with her family. Holidays, camping trips to the lake, attending her grandchildren’s football and soccer games – these things brought her so much joy. Nature walks, flowers, and sunsets brought her peace.

On Friday, November 17, family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate a life well lived at The Vineyard located at 605 S I Street, Madera, CA 93637 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
