Fay met her husband in India where he was stationed in the Army. Taking his war bride to his home in NY, NY on January 12th 1945. Mary Lou arrived April 3rd the following year.  They were so excited to have a daughter. When Mary was 1 1/2 years of age, her mom and dad packed up the car and moved West to California. Her brother Ted came in 1950 followed by Walt in 1955.

After college she started her teaching career that lasted over 36 years. She loved her work with children, especially with having none of her own. She taught 3rd grade and mostly Kindergarten at Niles Elementary school.
Then the nieces and nephews came. In order: Patricia, Stacy, Adam, Nathan, and Stephanie. Later came the great niece and nephews: Patricia’s son, Sean came first. He was IT for 7 years before Starla, Judah and Elijah came. She LOVED, LOVED, LOVED all those kids. She was very generous with her time and gifts. (Books especially) She once wrote: My favorite people are children.
Mary inherited her fathers’ love and talent of art. She really enjoyed glass artwork, pottery and drawing. Mary also loved to travel. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Europe and many places throughout the U.S.

  4. CandleMary, I always loved your visits to my salon over the 40 or more years. We shared everything that was happening in our lives, the good and the bad. I loved hearing about all your kids as you called them, you were such a dedicated teacher and mentor to them. And your art was amazing!
