Nicci Passed Saturday surrounded by her loved ones after a valiant battle with Cancer. She was strong and put up an amazing fight. She touched many lives with her gentle and kind spirit.
Nicci was born Dec. 20, 1972 in Modesto, CA. and graduated from Beyer High School, then received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UOP. She graduated with honors, Tau Beta Pi for Academic Excellence. Nicci worked at VTA as a Civil Engineer on the light rail project. She also pursued her talents in designing and creating amazing cakes and desserts.
Nicci was an amazing woman with a passion for life. Her determined spirit had a unique softness which inspired all that were blessed to have known her. Ingenious, witty, and compassionate, Nicci's brilliant impact on the world is unmeasurable.
Nicci took in stray kittens and raised them from 3 weeks old. She raised all five kitttens and found them all good homes. One of the homes happened to be hers, and she spoiled Gizmo rotten. Gizmo has no fear and is proof that Nicci raised her with love. Nicci loved her kittens as if they were her own children.
Nicci is survived by her loving husband, Robert Zvara, parents Jim and Maureen Brock of Modesto and sister, Jami Buchanan of San Clemente. She leaves behind her kittens (fur babies), Salem, Lucyfur, Graysee, and of course Gizmo.
Friends and Family are invited to Nicci's Celebration Of Life on Monday Mar. 3rd, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd in Fremont. Nicci's final resting place will be at the Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA.
Nicci I will always remember your smiling face and that wonderful red hair. You were terrific and made me feel welcome when I first started at Tasman East. Thank you for being a good friend. You will be missed by everyone.
Dear Zvara Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Death is something that pains us all, we never want to see our love ones go. I will like to send my condolence to the family and friends, as well as, to share a comforting scripture. It’s Rev 21:4- ” And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”Âť May this scripture bring comfort to you all, for this is a loving promise from our heavenly Father, a promise that soon all suffering will end, especially death.
I met Nicci and Rob when they moved in next door. We would talk over the back fence.
Salem sleeps on my patio chair, wants to be petted but bats at me when I try.
I will miss our chats and her samples of her new recipes of her cupcakes.-Susan Hall
So sorry to hear. I was Nicci’s Co-op Coordinator. I oversaw her Co-op with Caltrans in Redding. She was a serious and talented student, but she also knew how to see the humorous aspects of life. I wish her family well.

Nicci was our cousin, but more a dear friend. The obituary said it all and got it all right. I love you Nicci, you will be greatly missed, and my heart aches for your family and their loss. God Bless them, and I will look forward to Heaven’s new angel, watching over us all.
Rob, I only met Nicci when we vacationed in California. She was so uplifting and positive on life and had so much faith in her purpose in life and the fate of what will be. She truly was an amazing person, and I know your heart will forever long for her. Memories are very powerful and can help get you through the difficult times, along with all your loved ones. My prayers will be with you and your family
I’m very saddened to hear of Nicci’s passing at such an
early age. Even though she majored in civil engineering and therefore I never
had her in any of my classes, I remember her fondly from SWE and Tau Beta Pi.
She will certainly be missed.
I feel lucky to have known Nicci as a student at Pacific and to have stayed in touch through SWE over the years. Nicci had an infectious smile that always lit up the room. She will be missed.
It was a pleasure to have Nicci in my classes at Pacific. She was a bright student who always seemed to ask the most difficult questions. I enjoyed talking with her during visits to Pacific after graduation. Nicci was so positive about her career and life. Her passing certainly creates a void in the Civil Engineering community. I wish her family well during these difficult times.
