Pauline L Hughes

Pauline Hughes was born on April 20, 1922 to Jefferson and Vinnie Rhea in San Antonio, Texas. Pauline's parents moved to Redlands, California soon after she was born and she graduated from Redlands High School. On September 26, 1941 she married the late Lloyd G. Hughes. They were happily married for 66 years and lived in Fremont for 58 years. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Pauline worked for 16 years in the accounting department of the Fremont Unified School District. Together with Lloyd and their three sons, she enjoyed summer camping trips and family gatherings. Pauline is survived by her three sons, Ronald, Nolan, and Norman. Seven grandchildren: Camille Nakamura, Jeffrey Hughes, Colin Hughes, Elliott Hughes, Julie Hughes, Lesley Kaye, and Lauren Hughes, and four great-grandchildren, Claire, Joseph, Travis, and Linnea. Preceded in death were her brothers, Bert, Marcus and David. Her surviving siblings are Gerald Rhea and Wanda Gall. Pauline was a wonderful loving lady; she was glad that her sons and their families lived near her in Fremont. Her family was truly her first priority and proudest life achievement. She will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 2950 Washington Blvd. Fremont, CA 94538.
