Ramona V Alvarez

On Sunday, January 20, 2019, Ramona V. Alvarez, loving wife and mother of two children passed away at the age of 80 at Kaiser Hospital in Fremont, California of pneumonia. Ramona was born on July 18, 1938 in El Paso, Texas. Ramona is a longtime Newark, California resident, who lived in Newark for 51 years. Ramona was a retired teacher, who taught accounting and keyboarding at Spectrum in Hayward, California. She also previously taught Mathematics at Technical High School in El Paso, Texas. Ramona is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics. Ramona is survived by her husband, Miguel Alvarez, a retired aircraft mechanic who worked at NASA Ames Research Center at Moffet Field in Mountain View, California. She is survived by her sister, Carmen Combs of El Paso, Texas. Ramona is survived by her daughter, Patricia Alvarez, an English Professor at San Jose City College in San Jose, California, and Mission College in Santa Clara, California. She is also survived by her son, Michael Alvarez,a District Manager, her daughter in-law, Christina Alvarez, her two granddaughters, Alyssa Alvarez and Amanda Alvarez of Livermore, California. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Richard, Tony, Hector, Gloria V., Terry, Freddie, Rick, Elena, Jose Luis, Paul, Manuel Jr, Charlie, Anna, Leticia, Al, Gloria A. and Goddaughter Rosa Vichcales. She was comforted by the consistent visits from her nephew Richard Ortiz.
