Retha Iris Edwards

Retha Edwards passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 3, 2018. Born May 11, 1943 in Arnett, West Virginia to Dean and Maxine Daniel, she was the younger sister to Judy Taylor and older sister to Lowell Lee Daniel. At the age of 15, she met Tony Edwards, a sailor in the U.S. Navy who came home with a friend during a leave. Tony and Retha married on July 5, 1960. They were married until his passing in 2004. They had 3 children, Antoinette, Judith Renee and Greg. They settled in So. California and lived there until the summer of 1975 when a job transfer moved them to Fremont and lived the rest of their lives in Fremont. Retha was a Christian and her faith sustained her always. She is survived by her son Greg (Milia), daughter Antoinette Rodrigues (Ken) sister Judy Taylor, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous other extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband Tony Edwards, daughter Renee Edwards, brother Lowell Lee Daniel, granddaughter Amy Rodrigues and great granddaughter Leilah Jubilee Rodrigues. While her family rejoices that she is at rest, they will miss her greatly. A private ceremony was held.
