Richard 'Dick' Lym was a pharmacist with the perfect prescription for life: be kind, make time for family and friends, trust in God and root for the SF Giants, 49ers and Warriors. At the age of 89, he passed away peacefully on Feb. 15. Dick was born on Oct. 3, 1926, in SF. His parents Wah and Rose Lym and younger siblings Kenny and Patricia passed before him. He attended Lowell High and UC Berkeley, and in 1953, received a pharmacy degree from the Univ. of Colorado - Boulder, where he met his bride, Jean Tatsuko Okazaki. The couple was blessed with 60 years of marriage and sons Brian, Kevin and Joel. The family grew with son-in-law Scot Medbury and daughters in-law Maxine Wong and Lauren Tang, followed by grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Ella and Russell. A 'Celebration of Life' for Dick will be held Sat, March 5, 3-4pm, followed by a reception 4-5:30pm, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 321 Taraval, SF. Semi-casual or Hawaiian attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donaldina Cameron House or Covenant Presbyterian Church.
