Resided in:
Fremont, CA
Richard 'Todd' Higgs was born in Mountain View, Ca on February 27, 1963 to his beloved mother, the late Kathryn Higgs, and his father Richard H. Higgs of Groveland, Ca.
He left us too soon at the age 51 on June 15, 2014 in Niles, Ca.
He is preceded by his brother, the late Bill Brent Higgs in 2012.
He leaves behind his sister Julianne Higgs (Spangler), his nephews James and Jack Spangler of Sacramento, and his companion and best friend, Anita Moreno Reynolds whom he's known since they were 14 yrs old.
Todd lived in Japan from Feb 1967 to June of 1970 (Age 4 to 8). His family moved to the Bay Area in July of 1971 and Todd spent the rest of his life in the Fremont area.
He graduated from Kennedy HS in 1981. He previously attended American HS where he began his passion for music; teaching himself to play the piano, saxophone, drums and guitar (which he played upside down being left handed). After high school Todd also attended Ohlone College.
In the 80's he played keyboards in many bands including Search , Silent Partner, and Bad Boys. Todd wrote music as well.
Todd worked at Allegro Music in Fremont for many years and then migrated into the computer industry (also self-taught).
Besides music and computers, Todd enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia.
You didn't have to know Todd long to know that he had a kind and generous heart, willing to give his last dollar if he saw someone in need. Todd never met a stranger, he loved everyone and made friends where ever he went. To say Todd was a rare soul is an understatement; he will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him.
A private burial was held at Irvington Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance and celebration of Todd's life at Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay (a place he loved) on Sunday July 13th at 1pm Reception immediately following.
Todd believed in 'paying it foreword' in lieu of flowers, you can honor Todd by Paying it foreword.
Todd, You are in our hearts, remembered forever and made a difference in our lives. Rest in peace. Love Lynn
