Bob passed away Wed., October 14th, with his wife and son at his side. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 45 years, son Tim Caruso (Rocio) of Oakley, grandchildren Robert, Christopher and Isabella, sister Nancy Mesquite of Brentwood, Mother-in-law June Caren of Klamath Falls, nieces Tiffany Chesnowski (Mike) and Melodee Kohut (Alex), and nephews, Sam Deep (Sandi), Matt Mesquite(Jane) and Steve Mesquite (Marie).
Bob grew up in Hayward, graduated from Sunset High School and served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war where he earned a bronze star. He worked at Cobe Laboratories and Eitemiller Painting, retiring from Dale Hardware in 2012 where he was able to use his love of tools and wood working.
Gifted by his dad Romildo Caruso with a love for baseball, Bob's passion was coaching. He spent many loving years at Fremont American Little League and was never happier than being on the field with his players. Bob shared this passion for coaching with Tim. He also coached Santa Paula CYO and Irvington High School JV Baseball and was a diehard S.F. Giant and 49er fan.
Family and friends are invited to attend Memorial Services Thursday, October 22nd at 11 a.m. at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels at 40842 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont.
