Robert K. Andersen

Robert (Bob) Keith Andersen passed away on January 27, 2022 at the age of 90. He grew up in Oakland, California. He served in the Korean War (1952-1954), not a particularly happy time in his life but credits that time in helping him become a man. He was very proud of his service and felt fortunate to be an American citizen.

He married the love of his life, Roberta (Robi) Souza in 1956. They were married for 65 years.

Bob graduated from University of California in Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree. He became a dad to twin daughters in 1960. He named them Lesley and Stacy. He felt that their family was complete, until the birth of his grandchildren, Lauren, Jason, Jessica, and Melissa when he felt such joy being a Papa.

He worked for the City of Oakland in the Urban Renewal Department and retired after 34 years.

He built the interior of the cabin in Arnold, California and spent many good times there with family and friends.

Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling, fixing or building things, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and golfing. He was also an excellent artist.

Bob and Robi traveled all over the world with their traveling buddies. They were blessed with many close friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was telling jokes up until he passed.

Bob was a generous, compassionate, loving, and kind soul. He made an impact on all who knew him. He had a smile that lit up the room. The world seems dimmer without him.
