Sister Imelda Marie Dibble May 7, 1932 – February 16, 2016 Sister Imelda Marie Dibble was born on May 7, 1932 in San Francisco, California to Helen and Clyde Dibble. Due to her father's employment her family traveled and so her early education was at several schools, among them St. James Girl's School in San Francisco Mission District and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Flintridge-LaCanada, California. She entered the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose on September 8, 1949 and made her first Profession of Vows on December 8, 1951. Sister earned a B.A. from Holy Names College, Oakland and an M.A. from the University of San Francisco. Her teaching ministry began at St. James Girl's School in San Francisco, and spanned 33 years during which she taught or was principal at both elementary secondary levels, serving in the Archdioceses of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Mexico City and the Diocese of Oakland. From 1986 until her retirement in 2011 Sister ministered as Corporation Treasurer, Congregational Councilor and Director of Studies for the Congregation. Sister died peacefully at the Dominican Motherhouse in Mission San Jose, Fremont, California on February 16, 2016, after a very brief illness. May she rest in peace.
