Resided in:
Campbell, California
It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Somya Jain Chauhan, who passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025, at the age of 51.
Somya was a trailblazer, a dreamer, and a doer. A remarkable leader in her career, she excelled with passion and purpose, leaving her mark as an accomplished CPA and Finance Leader at Google. Somya had a unique ability to foster connection and build strong, supportive communities wherever she went—a testament to her generosity of spirit and genuine care for others.
A health and fitness enthusiast, Somya embraced life with boundless energy and determination. Whether it was exploring new fitness challenges, savoring the perfect piece of dark chocolate, or sharing a glass of red wine with loved ones, she had a way of making every moment feel special. She saw beauty in the simple joys of life and inspired others to do the same.
Somya’s legacy is one of love, vitality, and togetherness—a reminder to live each day with intention and gratitude. She will be deeply missed by her loving father, Sorabh Kumar Jain; her devoted husband, Sanjay Chauhan; her cherished daughter, Aanya Chauhan; her dear sisters, Neha Jain (Suresh Kumar) and Urvi Jain (Sumeet Bhatia); and her beloved nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her adoring mother, Manjul Jain.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the beautiful memories Somya leaves behind. Her vivacious spirit will forever inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.

Somya – you will be missed! Our monthly get-togethers, whether for lunch or a walk, were always a chance to catch up on life, family, and the kids, and they’re all fond memories that I will miss!
Disheartened that the world has been left without such a wonderful woman.
I deeply miss you and can not believe the discussion we had about going to gym last Thursday was the last time we talked. You and I shared total 20+ years working history together with 17+ in Google and 3+ in HP. You are the sunshine that has lightened everyone and my best work friend. I had the honor to know you and your family well through the Sunday Hiking Group. We discussed many topics, kids, family, financial planning and what we will do after the retirement. Your beautiful smile and your gentle voice will be forever in my memory. I am heart broken, while I will try very hard to live the way you would live, with love and joy.
You will truly be missed deeply. Our first in person meeting was last year in February during Sorabh uncles birthday celebration in Delhi, have known you much before that though. Beautiful soul gone very very early 🌻
Rest in peace dear one. 🌟
Sending prayers for the family members.

Just cannot reconcile to the tragic fact that Somya is no longer among us. We all pray to Almighty to take her into his shelter; grant solace and courage to Sanjay and all family members to be able to bear the loss.
The people we love truly don’t leave us. They stay in the memories we carry, the lessons they taught us, the love they poured into us. Their laugh echoes in the back of our minds, their favorite phrases sneak into our conversations, and their essence lingers in the spaces they once filled.”
In the corridors and cafes of Java and Borregas buildings, I experienced the warmth of Somya’s smile and was fortunate to exchange brief conversations. Though I didn’t get a chance to work with her directly, Somya did inspire me to thrive and be better. Om Shanthi. May she rest in peace.
I am still struggling to process the reality that last week was the last time I would ever see you. It feels like a cruel dream. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything. Thank you for your unwavering support, your insightful mentorship, and for always being there for me, no matter what. I will forever cherish the memories of your beautiful smile and the way you lit up every room you entered. You had this incredible gift of spreading joy wherever you went, and the world feels a little dimmer without it. I remember our conversation about Diwali plans this year, and I promise to light a candle for you, just as we discussed. It will be a small way to honor your memory and keep your spirit alive in my heart. Somya, thank you for everything you were and everything you meant to me. You will be deeply missed. I am going to miss bothering you all the time.
I am praying for comfort and peace for your friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and sorrow,
Medina 🙁
Somya, 15+ years at work seeing you in the hallways and in meetings, always with a smile, and brilliant thoughts. I remember our conversations about living in Campbell. I’m so sorry your beautiful life was cut far too short. Your memory and spirit will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you.
I still cannot process heartbreaking news, I refuse to believe.
May your family find piece and comfort, I know you will guide them from above.
Thank you for always finding a smile and a kind word for those surrounding you, for your wisdom and kind guidance. Office hallways won’t be the same without your warm energy…

In some moments, the world stands still for a minute, and afterwards, nothing is the same as it was.
In these difficult times, every word is too much and yet too little.
I am deeply affected by the loss of your wife and can only offer comfort through my sympathy.
My thoughts are with you and your entire family.
With silent sympathy,
Dirk Meyer
We will miss you! You were always smiling, had radiant energy, and I still recall the fun times we danced next to each other in those hip-hop and Indian dance classes! May you rest in peace.
To the family, we send our deepest condolences.
Nick and Gloria
To the family, I send my deepest condolences.
I let you go
As you have set yourself free
By loving everyone who came in touch with you
Motivating others
Building community
Being the leader
Setting the bar
Being there for others
Knowing others’ needs
Being the Joy!
I let you go
As you are living in others
Being their part
Being there when they desperately needed you
You got the call and you beautifully answered
You spread yourself to answer as many calls as you could
I let you go
As you could not be with us
To do all that again
To live to your grain
To be the joy of others
To be the light of Almighty
That shines through you
And lives forever!
You are one of the most resilient and strongest persons that I have met. No matter the challenges, you are determined to tackle, with poise and grace. You are an inspiration for living life to the fullest.
It is disheartening that you are leaving us so soon. I cherish the times we shared together and I miss you forever.
Mona
Somya, I met you and Neha on our first day together at boarding school and have been lucky to have a lifetime of friendship and laughter. You enriched all our lives with your warmth, positivity, zest for life, brilliance and laughter. Your 1000 watt smile is imprinted in my heart, and I keep thinking of our all night chatter at our last meeting in London a couple of months ago. I will miss you so much our gorgeous Somu. Love and hugs to all your family and friends, you were very loved by all! ❤️
cannot reconcile to the thought that you are no more amongst us. will not ever fotget your smiling face and times we spent together in India and including my visit to your first home in LA. Only comfort is that God has taken you to a better place.
Lots of Love and Hugs
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Heartfelt condolences for the family ..Aum Shanti
Our deepest sympathies for this tragedy. Prayers for peace for dear Soumya & strength to Sanju, Aanya, Annu & the family to bear this great loss🙏 Om Shanti🙏💐
I was fortunate to spend a day with her years ago when I visited the Bay Area for an interview. She took me out to lunch at the Google campus and later welcomed me into her home. Her humility stood out to me as she shared her incredible journey—how she once thought she’d simply be a housewife, but instead found the courage to pursue an MBA. Years later, she had a chance encounter on a plane with the very person who had inspired her. Her story remains a testament to resilience, determination, and the beauty of following one’s path.
Even in her passing, her generosity shines through with the gift of organ donation—a final act of love and compassion that exemplifies the extraordinary person she was.
Somya’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. My thoughts are with her family during this unimaginably difficult time. May her soul rest in peace as she ascends to the heavens above.
With heartfelt sympathy.
You truly were one of life’s wonderful people with a light that shone brightly.
Until we meet again.
We feel sad and sorry for her passing into the next phase.
Our prayers and wishes for her immediate and extended family.
May you rest peacefully in the lotus feet of Lord.
Will miss you dear.
Hope to see you there
Dear Somya, you will always be missed by us all. Memories of our days together will ever remain part of our lives.
May your soul rest in peace.
Pray you rest peacefully in the lotus feet of Lord.
My deepest condolences to Jain and Chauhan families on this unfortunate happening.
My sincere sympathy to Somya’s family and friends. I hope you find some comfort in that she lives on in each life she has touched. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.
Many of us were lucky to know Somya through Google. As my first manager at Google, I was so lucky to join her team because of the supportive environment and community she cultivated. As one example, she made Dan take me in for Thanksgiving dinner since I moved to the Bay Area without friends and family, and that became an annual tradition. I always admired the authenticity with which she lived life and how passionate she was about everything she did, whether that was in her career, travels, health, and wellness. I remember having a conversation with her back in 2018 about learning to do handstands in yoga and was so happy to see her pursue her yoga certification years later. It was a huge shock to hear of her passing, she will be deeply missed.
I did not meet you often. I thought of you some more. But I will miss you a lot.
Thank you, Somya, for everything. You will be deeply missed.
With love and remembrance
Juan
Deepest sympathies to Sanjay, Aanya and all of your family and loved ones at this time.

She taught me so much about having a positive outlook and seizing the opportunity!!
Somya was taken too soon but her memory will live on and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to call her my friend. Rest in Peace Somya
Deeply saddened at Somya’s passing, I can only imagine the pain those who survive her must be going through. My sincerest condolences to them.
May they be granted strength in this time, and may Somya’s spirit find peace and rest in the great beyond.
I am still processing the news, you have always been very kind and supportive. We have lost a very good person and a great leader.
Frank
Somya, you were an incredible manager, mentor, leader, and person. I am thankful for the time that we had together and the lessons that you instilled upon me. Our last interaction was you popping into a conference room after you walked by and saw me on the screen talking with a colleague. You were always so supportive of helping folks reach their goals, and we were talking about our shared Dublin experiences, a huge goal of mine that you helped me accomplish. Thank you for all of the work and life lessons, they’ll be cherished and actioned.
There are no words to comment on your great loss. I am sending my prayers and heartfelt condolences.
With sincere sympathy,
Michaela
My deepest condolences to the family. My heart is broken for you and words are inadequate, but I hope you will find some comfort in the wonderful messages.
