Stella Zeszotek was born to Polish immigrants in Cleveland, Ohio on December 11, 1918, just after the end of World War I. She went to high school, until age 15 then left to work as a seamstress in a clothing factory. At a wedding, she met a musician, Alphonse Zeszotek, who she married in 1939. He worked in a mill for the steel industry and later she worked in a bakery. Her talents in baking and sewing were both adored by her children and grandchildren. Stella and Alphonse had two daughters, Eileen and Diane, who moved to California after completing college. Stella and Alphonse followed upon retirement and moved to North Monterey County. After Alphonse died in 1983, Stella moved to Salinas where she continued spending time taking care of her grandchildren, baking, sewing, and gardening. At the age of 91, she moved to San Francisco to live with her daughter, Eileen, and then in 2018 to a senior home in Fremont where she died of natural causes. She is survived by her two daughters, Eileen (Merv) Conlan and Diane (Frank) James, her grandchildren, Andrew (Carol) James, Alex Conlan, Natalie (Glen) Sanders, Simone Conlan and Nicholas (Azenith) James, and her great grandchildren, Tatum, Shane, Landon , Sophia and Emma.
