Warren Russell Smith
After battling cancer Warren passed away July 24, 2018, in Palo Alto leaving behind his wife of 33 years Norberta and their two children, Wesley and Kara. Warren was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 27, 1958 to William and Janice Smith. Being an Airforce bratt, Warren grew up in Florida, Nebraska and Missouri. The family finally settled in the bay area where he attended high school in Newark, CA after which he enlisted in the Air Force. Upon his discharge, Warren began his career in the telecommunication business which spanned for almost 35 years, working for companies Compath, ROLM, IBM and Siemens. Warren was able to retire in 2013 on his 55th birthday. Warren had many hobbies from his motorcycle trips to collecting shot glasses. After retiring, Warren could often be found at McDonalds enjoying his morning cup of coffee with his new (retired) friends discussing anything from politics to a favorite restaurant. Warren was a devoted father, husband, son and friend who will be terribly missed. His family would like to extend their thanks to those who supported him and his family thru the trying times he suffered with his illness.
