William "Bill" George Drake

Bill was born in Burbank OK. to Linsey & Viola Drake. The family moved to Madera CA in 1939, While in Madera Bill met his 1 and only true Love Frances Russell whom he married on Oct. 8, 1944. Together they raised 5 children. Bill loved to travel, go fishing, hunting and RVing, he was able to take his children and grand- children on a few trips and he traveled to all 48 of the continental Unites States at least once. Bill was retired from BFI as an operating engineer. Bill also belonged to several Portuguese organizations; he was President of the Newark Holy Ghost Festa in 1968 & 1986 and was the State Supreme President of the former SES in 1988. Bill is survived by his spouse of 70+ years Frances. Daughters Barbara Boudreau (Rick), Linda Schlug (Alton), Fran Carvalho (Jim). Son David Drake (Jeanette), Daughter-in-law Sue Drake, 21 grand children; 20 great children in CA, WI, AR, AZ, NV. Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents his son William L Drake, grandson Kenneth Drake, grand daughter Tisha Rogers, his sisters Dorothy & Buelabelle, many other in-laws, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday May 5th 4-7 pm at Chapel of the Angels Fremont Blvd. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday May 6th 12 noon At Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Blacow Rd Fremont. In lieu of flower the family requests donations in Bill's name to any of the following: Vitas Hospice Foundation, American Cancer Society, or charity of your choice.
