William Brown Odom, known affectionately as “Buzz,” passed away on June 22, 2024, in Union City, California, at the age of 87. Born on March 13, 1937, in Lawn, Texas, Buzz grew up attending Niles Elementary and Washington High School in Fremont, California, later pursuing some college education.
Buzz proudly served in the Army for two years. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career in real estate. From 1962 until 2005, Buzz worked as a real estate agent and broker, and from 1985, he also took on roles as a real estate appraiser, earning respect and admiration in the field.
Buzz was a man of many interests, including fishing, golf, hunting, and making jewelry. His hobbies were not just pastimes but passions that he pursued with enthusiasm. Above all, Buzz cherished the time spent with his family, especially his wife, daughter and grandchildren, who brought immense joy and fulfillment to his life.
Buzz is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Odom, his daughter, Sheri Lynn Savage and his grandchildren, Emma Brumm, Rylan Brumm and Trey Brumm.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 11 am at Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels, located at 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538. A reception will immediately follow the service.
